Doom artist dies…
Friday, October 30th, 2009Doom has one of the most iconic artworks for a PC game. It’s known the world over and it help propel id Software further into the spotlight. So it comes with a heavy heart to announce that the artist responsible for the legendary piece, Don Ivan Punchatz has died of cardiac arrest.
Punchatz (what a great surname) wasn’t just a one trick pony, his styles varied between photo-realism & surrealism. He also helped found Sketch Pad Studios launching the careers for other talent artists. Below is just a few of his most famous pieces.
