BF:Bad Company 2 Beta…
Tuesday, November 10th, 2009Consoles, pfft! Geddout! I’ve just read that the beta for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will be public and coming to the PC in December! For those of you who care about the console version. Click the link for more details.
Sweeeeeeet! Go Dice
Should have included this in the article, but rumours have it that the dedicated server option may actually be removed from BC2 on the PC – lets hope for the sake of PC gaming that it’s not ay?
I think that it is exactly that, rumours. Dice have officially stated that they will support dedicated servers (Albeit from ‘trusted partners’, whatever that means).
Its one thing to dodge the question till the last possible minute like IW but its another thing entirely to publicly state definate dedi support, and then go back on your word further down the line. The shitstorm unleashed would probably make MW2’s announcement look like good news.
All that said though at the end of the day it is business and they are in it to make the monies, if they thought they could make more by following IW’s example they probably would, fuck the loyal PC followers.
For me, once bitten, twice shy, I will be following BFBC2’s development very closely.
Oh and here is a link to their dedicated server announcement for those interested:

FUCK YEEEEAH!
“A lot of buzz has been floating around the internet lately about dedicated servers and we wanted to make sure our all our players have the best understanding of how Battlefield will be played on the PC. Since Battlefield 1942 DICE has used dedicated servers for all platforms. This formula has worked well, and still works well, for us and for the gaming community. We have stayed true to this practice and will continue this tradition into the upcoming title Battlefield Bad Company 2.”
