Game Of The Month: ARMA II

Initially viewed with mild enthusiasm followed by contempt for the shear multitude of bugs and issues plaguing the demo, some of us bought it anyway. By chance I tried the 1.03 patch and wow, it has really tidied up a lot of the major issues surrounding the initial release and with a little effort and a helping hand the game will ‘blow your little fps mind’. A sandbox for war, the BE warfare mod is probably one of the best things currently going for it. Considering the short period it’s been on general release, there has been remarkable progress

Game Of The Month: Insurgency

Insurgency has been helping folk keep the long wait for Operation Flashpoint : Dragon Rising at bay. If you haven’t tried this yet, why not? With an emphasis on realism this hardcore fps is definetly one of the best mods to have come out for the source engine! Bullets richochet off the floor and whizz past your head, there’s a global ranking system if you sign up on the insurgency forums. Highly recommended! Download it directly through steam.

Game Of The Month: Battlefield 2

Many of us have reinstalled BF2 for a revisit, it’s been a long while and for me I can now run everything on max settings without slow down, the loading screen which I remember taking ages also whizzes by. I expected to groan at the graphics but they’ve aged well and game is still a good laugh, especially if you have a good squad and commander.
